Our Program
Campbell Child Development Center was founded in 2001 out of a dream to create a nurturing, hands-on environment that enhances the development of the whole child, socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically. Campbell CDC is a year-round school which is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. serving children from 2 to 6 years of age. Several Half, Part, and Full Schedules are available from three to five days per week to meet varying family needs.

Emergent Curriculum
Our teachers observe children engaging in play, documenting their interests, interactions and emerging skills. Combining this information with our knowledge of Child Development and program goals, Early Childhood Educators create emergent curriculum. This process is what’s known as Developmentally Appropriate Practice, a guideline created by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Our staff meets regularly to coordinate consistency, share information, and construct a program that reflects the children within it.

Building Positive Self-Concept
A combination of multi-age grouping and a regard for individual family traditions at our facility encourages an environment of respect for others and their differences. This builds a child's self confidence and allows for more open and direct communication with peers and adults. Children begin to see others as their equals, no matter their age or background.

Our Philosophy
Campbell Child Development Center is built on the principle that children learn best though play! In our rich, developmentally appropriate environment a positive self concept and proactive communication skills develop through hands-on experiences. As children engage in multi-sensory activities, they are involved in meaningful experiences which build awareness of varied viewpoints. Children are encouraged to explore, invent, and discover logical paths to create their own unique understanding of the world. We also value family traditions and family involvement in the ongoing education of young children. We believe in building a strong community through mutual respect, cooperation, understanding, and open communication.

Our Daily Schedule
7:30 am to 11:30
As children arrive, they are welcomed with a choice of opening activities. Additional learning centers open as more children arrive. Center time includes all of the possible learning centers, including our outdoor area. At 9:30, teacher-guided group activities begin, focusing on communication and cooperation skills. As those activities come to a close, children are encouraged to again explore the learning centers based on their own interests. A snack is available in our nutrition center.

11:30 to 3:15
Children enjoy a nutritious lunch brought from home. As children finish lunch, the transition to rest time begins. Outdoor activities are provided as children awaken.

3:15 to 5:30
Group time begins again and center activities follow. Our nutrition center offers children a chance to make themselves an afternoon snack. Closing activities, designed to smooth the transition between school and home, begin around 5:30. Our facilities close at 5:30 pm.
